Cuba Beyond the Beaches: Three Must-See Cities

Cuban cities have so much to offer through its culture, history, natural beauty, and delicious cuisine. Exploring the many cities in Cuba allows tourists to experience this countries preserved architectural heritage and covers all manifestations of arts, literature, sports, and science. I found the town and cities throughout Cuba to be just the right size for me to enjoy them without ever feeling overwhelmed. Cuba is truly a country of indefinable magic! Here are three cities you should consider visiting when traveling to Cuba.

Havana

Havana, is one of the greatest cities in Cuba. Havana is a staggering blend of superbly unique architecture, beautiful horizons, and brilliant 1950s supercars. Contemporary Havana can essentially be described as three cities in one: Old Havana, Vedado, and the newer suburban districts. The city is also noted for its history, culture, architecture and monuments. The restoration of Old Havana offers a number of new attractions, including a museum to house relics of the Cuban revolution.

Trinidad

The splendid Spanish frontier engineering, cobblestone roads, and various steed trucks in Trinidad make a walk around town seem similar to strolling onto a 1850s film set. Square Mayor, offers the brilliant toned church Iglesia Parroquial de la Santisima for tourists to explore. This city is great for anyone wanting to learn more about the history of Cuba. Trinidad has multiple festivals featuring the music of the Caribbean and the steelpan, which originated in Trinidad and is the country's national instrument.

Santa Clara

Santa Clara has some of the most beautiful viewpoints and provides a variety of different attractions for tourists. Loma del Capiro is the perfect spot to sightsee and served as a pivotal vantage point for Che Guevara's guerilla armed force amid the 1958 freedom. Climb the simple 579-foot crest to see a striking landmark and cool off. Santa Clara is home to a mausoleum which houses the remains of Che Guevara and sixteen of his fellow combatants killed in 1967 during the Bolivia campaign.
